The JKL Dolphins delivered a statement performance in the 2025 National Basketball League (NBL) Men’s competition, dismantling the KIU Titans in Mukono on Saturday.

From the opening whistle, JKL looked sharp and purposeful. Their offensive rhythm and defensive discipline set the tone early, as they edged out KIU 22-17 in the first quarter.

But it was the second quarter that blew the game wide open. The Dolphins tightened their grip and suffocated KIU’s offense, outscoring them 18-7 to take a commanding 40-24 lead into halftime.

JKL’s bench depth became a major talking point as the game progressed. The Dolphins’ substitutes contributed a massive 35 points, showcasing the team’s versatility and depth. Meanwhile, the Titans struggled to find any offensive spark, with turnovers and poor shot selection haunting them throughout the night.

The third quarter saw a slight resurgence from the Titans as they matched the Dolphins point for point (18-18), but the damage had already been done. JKL remained in control, closing out the fourth quarter 17-17 to seal a dominant 93-59 victory.

Noel Solomon Yamode was the man of the day for JKL, coming up with 27 points just like Keith Mugabe and Wilson Otweyo who each came up with 14.

For KIU, Carlos Isabu managed a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds with Bifu Desmasiro and William Charles Severino both reaching double digits of 12 and 10 respectively.

Other games on the day in Mukono saw Kampala Rockets triumph over Sommet BC 85-72, Livingstone BC fall to KCCA Panthers 50-67 while UCU cooled off the red-hot Rez life, 64-42.
