Last season Women’s National Basketball League runners-up JKL Lady Dolphins managed to avenge their first-round loss to JT Lady Jaguars in a tightly contested encounter on Friday.
The Dolphins beat their newfound nemesis 65-59 in the first game of the second round at the MTN Arena, Lugogo.
The Lady Jaguars had won their first-ever meeting with the Lady Dolphins 53-52, in what was a tight affair too, played at YMCA.
On Friday under the lights, it’s the JKL Lady Dolphins that showed early intent as they won the first quarter 18-11.
JT Lady Jaguars then turned the tide around and led at the interval, a narrow 34-31 lead.
JKL Lady Dolphins returned to the third quarter on top and re-claimed at 49-45 before they eventually won it by a six-point difference headed at full-time.
JKL were steered by the superb Hope Akello who picked a game-high 19 rebounds, posting 8 points 2 assists, and the Player of the Match award.
