JKL Lady Dolphins produced a dominant display on Friday night to beat rivals UCU Lady Canons 82-64 in a high-stakes National Basketball League (NBL) Women’s clash, thrilling the moderate crowd with their pace, depth and relentless pressure at the Lugogo indoor Arena.

The game started evenly with both sides tied at 13 apiece after the first quarter. But from then on, it was all about the Dolphins.

JKL broke the game open in the second quarter, outscoring UCU 29-17 with a mix of aggressive defense and sharp shooting. By halftime, they had built a comfortable 42-30 lead.

The third quarter saw the Lady Canons try to mount a comeback, but JKL continued to execute efficiently, maintaining a 10-point advantage by the end of the period. In the final stretch, the Dolphins closed the game out with another strong 20-point quarter, sealing the 82-64 victory.

Coach Henry Malinga’s squad showcased depth and balance with both Agatha Kamwada and Tamasha Nsubuga raising 19 points.

For UCU, Slyvia Nantongo managed a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds with Sarah Namale coming off the bench to contribute 10 points.
