KIU Titans continued their excellent recent form as they beat UCU Canons 73-55 in the menโ€™s National Basketball League on Friday at YMCA Court, Wandegeya.

Following a good start from the Canons as they led the opening quarter 15-13, the Titans got back energized in the second quarter which they won 20-09.

And, they didnโ€™t look back from then on, eventually winning the game by an 18-point difference.

It was also perfect revenge for the Titans as they lost the first-round tie 68-69, a game that was a hugely close contest.

In a winning effort, Denis Balungu managed a game-high 20 points, adding nine rebounds on an evening to remember.

Also, Amisi Saidi Danny had 19 points and 9 rebounds while Edgar Munaaba contributed 9 points and 13 rebounds.

For the Mukono side, Peter Sifumaโ€™s 17-point and 18-rebound double-double was in vain, and the same can be said of Jerry Kayanga and Jimmy Otimโ€™s 11 points apiece.

The result made it 11 victories in 13 games for KIU Titans, who are the only side trying to mount a challenge against the City Oilers.
