The KIU Titans swept the UCU Canons in the semifinals to earn a shot at National glory, but that will be through the indomitable City Oilers.

Despite falling behind by six points, KIU made a remarkable comeback against the UCU Canons, winning 75-74.

Collins Kasujja showed out with 16 points, with Denis Balungu putting in a standout 13-point, 10-rebound game for the Titans.

Joseph Chuma’s rebounding efforts on the night saw him capture the game-sealing defensive rebound to propel the Titans to the finals and get him a 10th rebound.

The City Oilers are back in the finals as they have been the last 8 years. The Oilers swept Our saviour 3-0 in a best-of-five series. Game 3 was commanding, with the Oilers runaway 76-51 winners.

Ivan Muhwezi and Ruai Luak continued their red-hot form, contributing 18 points each, with Jimmy Enabu in a reliable support role with 15 points. Moses Maker recorded 11 points to his name.

The City Oilers, who have only lost one game all season (88-80 loss to Ndejje Angels) are now in the finals for the ninth consecutive year – and will be coming up against the KIU Titans and the rest of the basketball fraternity in Uganda in another attempt to remove the dictator.
