City Oilers are one win away from making the 2022 National Basketball League final, after their Wednesday 72-61 victory against arch-rivals UCU Canons at YMCA.

The Seven-time champions have now managed two wins in a Best of Five series, and should they get victorious in the next, a sweep will see them make an eighth consecutive final.

The Oilers had Francis Azolibe for inspiration as he managed a huge 20 points on the night, with 11 of them coming in the third quarter.

The other was Peter Sifuma who put up a double double of 15 points and 13 rebounds on another fruitful night.

On the other hand, UCU’s Fayed Baale put up an excellent individual display, managing 20 points and five rebounds, but, it was still quite not enough to lead them to victory.

Ibanda Lwabaga (10) was the only other player with double figures for UCU head coach Nicholas Natuhereza‘s side.

Natuhereza will be hoping his side can avoid defeat for the Sunday encounter, to push the series to game four.
