KIU Titans became the first team in the 2022 National Basketball League to make the playoff semi-finals after a 2-0 series win over Power.
The Titans beat the five-time champions Power 70-57 in the second series game that took center stage on Sunday, at Lugogo.
Power, desperate to tie the series, put up a strong shift before the last quarter. Heading to the last quarter, the game was 47- 47 and they fancied their chances of a victory.
However, Power eventually capitulated as their opponents opened an 11-0 quarter gap, to succumb to a second successive loss.
KIU’s victory was inspired by relatively good displays from Isaiah Mabeny and Micheal Otieno, who each put up 12 points.
The Titans are eager to find out who they will take on between KCCA Panthers and the Namuwongo Blazers, with the former carrying a 1-0 lead in that series.
