UCU Lady Canons dominated and out-muscled KIU Rangers, beating them 62-43 in game one of the semi-finals in the National Basketball League on Saturday at YMCA.
The Mukono based side were on top for the larger part of the match, as they went ahead to take a commanding 26-15 lead at halftime.
KIU turned up with dismal individual statistics. Ninette Uwineza managed 10 points, the most for the losing side.
Meanwhile, UCU were inspired by a superb Rose Akon display, hitting 16 points and 27 rebounds.
Maimuna Nabbosa then came up with 15 points, in a near-perfect performance.
The two outfits meet again for game two on Wednesday at YMCA.
On the other hand, defending champions and unbeaten side JKL Dolphins took their series advantage to 2-0 after beating KCCA Leopards 65-52 in Game two.
