Ndejje University may have no chance of qualifying for the knockout stage of the University Football League, but they are determined to win their final group game today at 3pm against Makerere in honor of their departed coach, Timothy Komakech.

Ndejje captain Christopher Hashakimanya revealed that the team is now ready to compete after finalizing the burial of their coach.

“Previously we did not train well because we have been down due to the death of our coach,” Hashakimanya said.

“The fact that we finalized the burial of our coach means we are ready for competition. We believe we shall win the tie against Makerere.”

Ndejje comes into the game having drawn 1-1 with Muni in their previous game.

Makerere, on the other hand, has already qualified for the quarterfinals in Group C with six points. Muni is second with five points, while Ndejje is bottom with two points.

Makerere will also be seeking to bounce back after losing 2-1 to Muni in their previous game.

“In the previous game against Muni we had so many chances that we failed to utilize,” Makerere coach Douglas Bamweyana said.

“But we have tried to see that we improve that. We are at home and I believe we can finish the group stages on high.”

Makerere University proved too strong for Ndejje University as they defeated them 3-0 away in Luweero in the first meeting back in September.
