NEC FC has announced the signing of Innocent Media, a 23-year-old South Sudanese striker, in a move aimed at bolstering the club’s attacking options for the upcoming season.
Media joins NEC FC after a two-year stint with Italian club ASD Lucera Calcio. Before his time in Italy, he was a standout performer for Arua Hills Football Club, where he scored 11 goals in 23 matches over two seasons, showcasing his goal-scoring ability. His senior career began in 2018 with Nyamityobola Football Club.
The addition of Media is expected to provide a significant boost to the NEC FC attack, which saw Emmanuel Ajo lead the line with 5 goals in 21 matches last season. He joins other forwards at the club, including new signing Hadson Mbalire and existing players Marvin Kavuma and James Jerieko.
This signing is part of a busy transfer window for NEC FC, who have brought in a total of ten new players to reshape their squad for the 2025-2026 season. The new recruits also include Mustafa Kiiza, Daniel Shabena, Warren Buule, Moses Waibi, Joseph Sseremba, Timothy Muwanguzi, Jackson Ssembatya, and Titus Ssematimba.
NEC FC is currently preparing for the new season, with their first match scheduled for August 28 in the Super 8 Cup against Express FC at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo.
