Home Boxing Nerrick Bulabe stops Mawanda in Second Round

The Uganda Boxing Champions League Week 7 ended on short notice as the main fight between Nerrick Tumusiime and De Park Mawanda could not cross into third round.

The fight was scheduled to last five rounds but Tumusiime alias Bulabe meaning ‘Dangerous’ was like his name, too hot to handle for Mawanda.

The fight started at 11:10pm on Saturday 17 August 2024 at Club Obligato following 18 undercard bouts which had two of them getting decided by walkover.

From the word go, Nerrick – the Kololo High student, started by throwing hard punches at Mawanda who barely responded.

By the end of the first round Mawanda had already gone down not once but twice, bringing the house full of fans on their feet in jubilation.

The fight went on to its second round and it was there that things turned worse for Mawanda as he went down to the canvas once again, and the referee was forced to stop the contest following medical advice.

At first Mawanda appeared to be disappointed with the decision, indicating that he still had nerves to continue the fight but after final announcement he ended up going for medical attention, while Nerrick Bulabe left the venue flying high in the arms of his fans.
