One might say that prolific goal poacher Shadia Nassanga, fondly known as Mima, is one of the players who benefited from the 2023 Netball World Cup in South Africa.
Apart from posting a remarkable performance in the championship, which saw her win three player of the match accolades, Nassanga is among the four players who got a short professional stint in Malaysia after the World Cup.
Mima secured a four-month employment contract with KL Wildcats Netball Club in Malaysia and posted wonderful performances.
On her return to home soil, due to the absence of the local netball league, Nassanga opted to join basketball and now, she is a player of JKL Lady Dolphins, the National Basketball League back-to-back champions.
Mima said she joined basketball because she wanted to keep her fitness such that Netball finds her in good shape when it returns to serious action.
