The Uganda Netball team, the She Cranes will be the lowest-ranked team at the Vitality Netball Nations Cup games hosted by the United Kingdom.
Currently fifth in the world, Uganda will face the top three nations namely; top seed the Australian Diamonds, second the New Zealand Silver Ferns, and hosts England.
Coach Fred Mugerwa, the man who was in charge of the She Cranes when they wrote history down in South Africa at the just concluded World Cup is confident his troops will deliver.
“We need to win some games and improve on our rankings by picking valuable points. All we have to do is to upset one or two teams.”
The full-of-confidence coach told the press that the World has to recognize that netball made in Uganda is top tier once again after the team’s final training session.
The team has a rest day today as they prepare for the trip ahead of the games across the weekends of 20-21 and 27-28 January 2024.
The first two days of the tournament will be played at the prestigious OVO Arena Wembley in the United Kingdom.
Matches will then move to the First Direct Arena, in Leeds, and without a doubt, a good number of scouts will be at both venues to spot exceptional talents.
