Uganda women’s netball shooter Peace Proscovia, who trades in the United Kingdom, has been ruled out of the rest of the 2023 Netball Super League season, due to illness.
Her club Surrey Storm, which features in the Vitality Netball League, made the damning revelations of the leading scorer.
“We are sad to announce Bartercard Surrey Storm Goal Shooter Proscovia Peace has withdrawn from the rest of the NSL season on medical grounds,” the club said in a statement released on Friday.
“Peace will remain part of the Bartercard Surrey Storm squad/family for the rest of this season and will continue her commitments off the court.”
She currently leads the scoring charts with 520 goals. In 2022 she was the top scorer with 853 goals and was rewarded the Gilbert Golden Shot award.
It’s another blow for the She Cranes as they gear up for the forthcoming Netball World Cup.
She joins Strathclyde Sirens’ Stella Oyella, who is out as well due to a knee injury.
