Mercy Batamuliza is the latest Ugandan to join the Malaysian Netball Super League. The energetic forward has joined Perak Phoenix.

She joins defender Christine Nakitto and shooter Shadia Nassanga who moved to the league earlier this month.

As a result of these moves, the trio were left out of the She Cranes squad for the upcoming 2025 Vitality Netball Nations Series.

The international tournament is scheduled to take place from February 1st to 9th at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, England.

Back in Uganda, it won’t only be KCCA Netball Club that will miss her services on the local scene, but also JT Jaguars Basketball Club.

Batamuliza was the best rebounder of the 2024 Women’s National Basketball League season, with 399 rebounds, demonstrating her height and aggressiveness.

Despite not being in the World Cup squad, Batamuliza was part of the team that featured in the Nations Test Series in the UK last year.

It is such experience and that gained from the recently concluded Fast5 and Africa Netball Cup tournaments which makes her a solid asset for her new team, Perak Phoenix.
