Day by day, Netball is moving towards the return to where it belongs. Since the elections held on 26th October 2024, several activities have been taking place until the Annual General Meeting on 29th March 2025.
In the first AGM for Netball Uganda, the return of the league and the appointment of standing committees were the key items during the meeting held at Cooper Chimney in Lugogo.
The league, which was last held in 2023, was confirmed to throw off on 5th March 2025 at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo and netball national body president Jocelyn Uchanda confirmed teams’ readiness for the league.
“We are good to go as our league returns, all teams are already in preparations, and players are putting in much effort. We saw Uganda win a medal at the Fast Five in the absence of the league, and locally, we have witnessed great performances at National Novices and at National Rally where clubs played.”
Both the Men’s and Women’s Leagues shall run from April to November.
The calendar comprises 50 events, including local and international, with 11 events already done and dusted.
The Africa Netball Cup and the World Male Championship, both scheduled in October, stand to be the biggest events of the year.
The AGM also had another key event as netball members got appointed to 11 committees, with federation vice president William Bwambale named to head the Planning and Events Committee.

- Media and Publicity: Jocelyn Uchanda
- Legal Committee: Moses Mwase
- Safety and Equipment: Aminah Mande,
- Safe Guarding: Douglas Kabwegere,
- Medical Commission: Solomon Ndaula and Isma Ssenyondo
- Anti Dopping: Stephen Ataro
- Athletes Committee has the likes of Ruth Meeme, Rachael Nanyonga, Remmy Nyonjo and 17 other members.
