Simon Tamale, the new goalkeeper for Rwandan giants Rayon Sports, has set his sights on keeping more clean sheets in the upcoming season.
The 28-year-old Ugandan international joined Rayon Sports from Maroons FC in June, and he has already made a positive impression.
He was named the goalkeeper of the season in the Uganda Premier League last season, and he was also nominated for the player of the year award.
Tamale is confident that he can continue his good form in Rwanda.
“My target in Rwanda is to keep more clean sheets and also do better in my style of play as a sweeper because football has changed, goalkeepers now engage in playing the ball,” he said.
Tamale is not the only new signing for Rayon Sports this summer.
The club has also brought in the likes of Musa Esenu and Joachim Ojera, and they are hoping to challenge for the CAF Confederation Cup title next season.
With Tamale in goal, Rayon Sports will be a tough team to beat. He is a talented goalkeeper with a lot of experience, and he is determined to help his new club achieve success.
