Ngoonge defeated Mbogo 2-0 in the final of the 2023 Bika By’abaganda football tournament at Wankulukuku Stadium on Saturday, lifting their first ever title.
Ronald Ssekiganda and Richard Ssonko scored the goals for Ngoonge, who dominated the game from start to finish.
Ssekiganda netted the first goal in the opening 10 minutes of the game to put Ngoonge in a deserved lead.
Ssonko doubled the lead before the break to leave more work for Mbogo in the second and last stanza of the game.
Mbogo tried to get back into the game in the second half, but Ngoonge’s defense held firm to secure the victory.
Before the finals, Omutima Omusagi defeated Nsenene 5-4 on penalties after 3-3 draw in normal time to win the bronze medals.
Meanwhile, Ngeye retained the netball title after a hard fought 37-36 win over Nnyonyi Nyange.
