Nile Special has today announced the conclusion of the Cranes Kabbo, unveiling 450 million Uganda Shillings proceeds from the campaign.
Launched last year, the drive aimed to rally support for the Uganda Cranes in its quest to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in North America.
“We are thrilled with the overwhelming support and participation we received from all Ugandans throughout the campaign,” Joel Galla, the Nile Special Brand Manager noted.
The gatherings will be invested in one of three proposed areas, each of which holds immense importance for the development of Ugandan football.
First on the list is the improvement of the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru, followed by the development of a new Nile Special Training Centre.
In third place is investing in the high-level coaches’ development training abroad, improving the coaches’ game understanding.
To ensure transparency and participation in the decision-making process, Nile Special has opened a poll to the public on its Twitter page.
The area to get the most votes from Ugandans will be the lucky one to be funded for the betterment of Ugandan football.
According to the football governing body CEO, Edgar Watson, the voting period commenced today and will close this Friday.
This will be followed by the digital reveal of the poll results and the project chosen for the fund allocation will be unveiled.
