Despite the momentum, Head Coach Joshua Osiya remains focused;
“We are excited about our first wins,” Osiya said.
“Tomorrow we face Egypt. Algeria was a bit stronger than them, but we hope to approach the game with the same spirit, strong blocking, service, and offense.”
Osiya praised the team’s preparation at the International School of Uganda (ISU), where facilities mirrored those in Cairo. “The courts and lights really helped us feel at home,” he said.
Player on the team, Williams Opoya highlighted defense and service as crucial in their Algeria win. “It wasn’t easy, but by God’s mercy we won. Our defense and serving were strong, and we covered the blocks well,” he said.
With fans behind them, the Nile Warriors are set to maintain their winning streak against Egypt and continue their championship charge.
Only the top three side at this Championship will qualify for the U21 World Cup set to happen in Qatar.
