It’s that time of the year when we look back at the last 12 months of rugby and ask ourselves if these individuals and teams deserve what they say they deserve.
Last time round, there was so much uproar around the nominees and winners that we decided to take a swipe at a twist for it. The categories are chosen for satire and the explanations, even for better. Let’s have some fun with this.
Team Of The Year
Here, we have two nominees.
Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to reintroduce the team that went from loved to dreaded to hated in less than 24 hours – the most hated non-core side ever, Tororo Crest. Mileke Border 7s gave us a curve ball with that team.

Platinum Credit Heathens found themselves in an untidy spot, having to put away the “unknown” Tororo Crest, with the entire stadium against them. Little did the “Stadium” know that the Crest was here to torment.

Law books were referred to nullify their participation, but the LOC didn’t hear it. Safe to say, it was not funny anymore, huh! On that note, #HeathensTuko.
The second nominee; is Kyambogo Rugby Club. Kyambogo has arguably had the most rugby action the last year.
Kyambogo recently got the attention of all rugby folk in Uganda when they were involved in a 3-way with the Boks (KOBs babies) and the Uganda Rugby Union.
To show their readiness to handle hectic schedules, the side has participated in all rugby programs they could get their hands involved in. Let’s do a run down, with their overall performances notwithstanding.

Kyambogo took part in the Central 15-A-Side Championship, Central Sevens, University Sevens, and Sevens Core-Status Qualifiers, and they were the most “welcomed” invitational side on the National Sevens Calendar.
You, our readers, will have to choose this one for us. Tororo Crest vs Kyambogo.
NB: This is a series edition that will be running on a daily for the next 15 days, enjoy!
