Morocco will be without star right-back Achraf Hakimi when they face Uganda in an international friendly on November 18, days after their clash with Mozambique on November 14.
The Paris Saint-Germain defender suffered a severe left ankle sprain during the club’s 2-0 Champions League loss to Bayern Munich in midweek. PSG later confirmed Hakimi will be out for several weeks.

The injury is a major setback for coach Walid Regragui, coming just weeks before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) kicks off on December 21 in Morocco.
His absence could force tactical adjustments as the Atlas Lions fine-tune for the continental showpiece.
Still, Morocco’s 27-man squad remains stacked with talent. Manchester United’s Sofyan Amrabat and Noussair Mazraoui, Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz, Real Betis winger Abde Ezzalzouli, and Fenerbahçe striker Youssef En-Nesyri headline a team full of European-based stars.
Veteran captain Romain Saïss, West Ham’s Nayef Aguerd, and goalkeeper Yassine Bounou add leadership and experience.
The two friendlies will give Regragui a chance to test depth and experiment with new combinations before finalizing his AFCON squad.
