Nondies, Pearls Conquer Kitaka 10s

Kenya side Nondescript, over the weekend, emerged the winners of the inaugural Kitaka 10s tournament held at Kampala Rugby Club.

The Nondies defeated reigning premiership and national 7s champions, Stanbic Black Pirates, in the finale 5-0.

The tournament, hosted by the Kampala Old Boys (KOBs), was held in memory of former chairperson and patron Edward Kitaka.

Nondies went through the weekend unscathed, seeing off the Rhinos in the semis and the Rams in the quarterfinals. The Pirates dumped hosts, KOBs, out of contention at the semifinal stage,

The Black Pearls continue dominating everything women’s rugby with another tournament win.

The ladies ran through the round-robin edition unscathed, winning three games: 19-00 against the Panthers, 15-00 against the Vindicators, and 22-00 against the Ewes.

Emilly Lekuru continued to run for fun, emerging top scorer with eight tries on the weekend.

Alex Aturinda was the men’s top points scorer.
