Nsanzuwera wins Uganda Professional Golf Open

Rwandan golfer Celestine Nsanzuwera has won the 2025 Uganda Professional Golf Open at Lugazi Hills Golf and Country Club.

The Kigali-based pro carded a 6-under 278 over 72 holes, with 19 birdies, 41 pars, 10 bogeys, and one double bogey to claim the title.

Nsanzuwera, who also won the East Africa Swing in Kigali and the Sunshine Development Tour in Nairobi, was delighted with his latest victory.

“I am so excited. I needed this victory. It was a good competitive tournament and I give credit to the rest of the players,” he said.

Kenya’s Njoroge Kibugu came second on 281 (-3), while Cameroon’s Pristhy Fon Nji finished third with 282. Uganda’s Marvin Kibirige tied for fourth at 283 with Zimbabwe’s Robson Chinhoi.

Fresh from his amateur win, Joseph Cwinya-ai was the best amateur in the pro event. David Kamulindwa and Kenya’s Greg Snow tied for seventh at 288, followed by Zimbabwe’s Visitor Mapwanya (289) and Kenya’s veteran Dismas Indiza (290) to complete the top ten.

The professionals’ event capped a three-week Uganda Golf Open series that also featured seniors, ladies, and amateurs.
