2022 Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club International Tournament today morning got a 70 million Uganda shillings financial boost.

National Social Security Funds, the title sponsor of the event for the last 11 remarkable editions once again stepped up to the occasion.

Victor Karamagi, NSSF Senior Manager PR and Communications asserted that the marriage is still healthy as the tournament heads into it’s 24th edition.

“We are proud to announce a sponsorship package of 70 million which will specifically go to the technical assets of the game to make the tournament possible,” Karamagi States during the launch.

Over 30 teams from East and Central Africa are expected to be apart of this and by press time, 10 teams from Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda had already confirmed.

“We want to support the youth who want a chance to prosper in sports. This tournament gives our youth a platform to face formidable competition,” Karamagi noted.

The NSSF KAVC International tournament is back after a 2-year break due to the COVID 19 outbreak and it will be held from 5th to 7th August at the Lugogo Indoor stadium and National Hockey Grounds.

The annual tournament that brings together top Volleyball teams from the East and Central African region in competition is a brainchild Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club Uganda, a club founded in 1970 by a group of Makerere University Alumni.
