The Nsuma Clan Prime Minister, Peter Magoba Kayima, calls Bazakulu ba Kibondwe of Nsuma Clan to raise more funds for the team.
After winning the first leg at the Round of 32, beating Butiko Clan 1-0 in the closely-contested game played at Lubiri on May 12th, the Clan Katikiro, with joy, rallied the people of his clan.
“We have been preparing our players, we have looked at clubs for them and now they are at good level to compete. Today we have won, now the focus goes on the next game.
“Therefore, I call all BaKibondwe to come and bring money, the work we are investing in is visible, our mission is to play in front of our Kabaka, we really want that handshake.”
To win over Butiko Clan, Buikwe Redstar forward William Musoke netted his second goal of this year’s Bika Bya Baganda football tournament, and the goals came in consecutive matches.
Sitting on the advantage of the goal that came in the first half, Nsuma clan Coach Vincent Mulali introduced Buikwe District Chairperson Jjimy Kanaabi as a second-half substitute, replacing the goal scorer.
The other substitute was Brian Miyale who came on for Innocent Kanaabi Mukalazi who scored their first goal of the tournament and the only other scorer besides Musoke.
With one game to group stage, the main team funder Bob Kanaabi and Robert Bulega promised appreciation to the team if they make it to the stage.
If they reach the group stage, it will be the first time for Nsuma Cla but they will have to stay in control against Butiko in the return leg game scheduled on the evening of 15th May 2025 at Kawanda Secondary School.
In other games at the same venue, Ngabi Nyunga and Nyonyi Nyange played out a barren draw which ended on bad note when Uthman Arafat was driven off the pitch by an Ambulance after collapsing in the last minute of the game.
In total, there were 16 games played across four pitches.
At Wakisha Resource Centre, Bruno Bunyaga scored for defending champions Ngabi Nsamba to defeat Nvuma 1-0.
For the last season’s finalist, Mpindi fought from behind to win 5-3 over Nvubu, who had Hadson Mbalire stun with the first hat trick of the season. Kenneth Ssebadduka and Sharif Ssaka scored twice each and Sulaiman Mutatya completed Mpindi’s comeback.
At Kawanda SS, Kasimba played to finish the business in the first leg after hammering Njobe 5-0, thanks to Chris Walukagga and Erias Kiyemba for netting braces and Lineka Buyondo who added the other goal.
