Peter Obleng lit up Dar es Salaam with a stunning performance as Namuwongo Blazers dashed away Djabal Basketball Club 132–58 to qualify for the Elite 16 of the Road to BAL 2026 on Sunday evening at the International School of Tanganyika Gymnasium.

Bouncing back from their earlier 83–70 loss to Dar City, the Ugandan side delivered a masterclass, showing both hunger and quality from start to finish.

Obleng was the star of the night, dropping a game-high 39 points with surgical precision, shooting 60.9% from the field and 87.5% from deep while adding three rebounds and four assists.

The Blazers came out firing, leading 31–10 after the first quarter thanks to Joel Lukoji Banza’s early three-pointers.

By halftime, Obleng capped a dominant first half with a thunderous dunk as Namuwongo built a 39-point lead.

After the break, Obleng hit two more long-range bombs to extend the gap to 84–47 before the Blazers completely overpowered Djabal in the final quarter to seal a massive 78-point blowout.

Six other Blazers also hit double figures, Ivan Enabu (13), Innocent Ochera (13), Moses Mugisha (11), Arthur Wanyoto (11), Jaycson Ray Lavoughn Bereal Jr (10), and Obasa Toluwalope (10), underscoring the team’s depth and chemistry.

The emphatic win booked Namuwongo Blazers’ spot in the Elite 16, where they will proudly represent Uganda in the next stage of the Basketball Africa League qualifiers in November.
