BUL Football Club finally made Abbey Bogere Kikomeko’s appointment official on Tuesday at their headquarters in Masese, Jinja City, ending days of rumours and speculation.
The tactician has penned down a three-year employment contract with the Oil Manufacturers, that will run till 2026.
Following the exit of Alex Isabirye to Vipers SC, the club handed Simeon Masaba the interim role, but the coach failed to impress, winning only one Uganda Cup match but no single victory in the league in 2023.
“We’ve signed him as our senior team coach for the next three years,” the club chairman Ronald Barente told the media.
“We believe that he is the right man to take us forward as we look to fulfil our short and long-term objectives. We feel that his experience is what we need to push forward,” Barente added.
Kikomeko signed after guiding Mbale Heroes to the FUFA Big League, a truly astonishing feat.
He previously coached Kirinya Jinja SSS and later Busoga United before leaving at the end of the 2021 season.
