Vipers head coach Alex Isabirye has confirmed partying ways with the Uganda Premier League champions, ending a spell of speculation about the certainty of his job.
The tactician who won a domestic double last season with the Venoms has accused his paymasters for acting contrary to the terms of the contract.
This comes at a time when the former BUL FC boss got accused by the club for contract breach, and subsequently summoned him for disciplinary hearing, which was slated for Thursday.
Isabirye, meanwhile, has said that he will not appear before the Disciplinary Committee as summoned because of his current healthy as he continues recovery from an accident he suffered earlier this week.
“I didn’t a abscond from duty as head coach. I was involved in an accident and had to seek medical attention. I immediately informed the Club CEO Simon Njuba,” he said in his resignation letter.
“I am writing to confirm my resignation from the position of head coach of Vipers SC due to breach of my Contract.”
“Article 5, Section 3 and 4 of my employment contract states that I am responsible for endorsing players being recruited and choosing my assistant team/staff in consultation with the club management.”
“However, this clause was not honoured and I was not aware of the recruitment of three current members of the team: Raoul Lukusa Kayembe (assistant coach) and two Brazilian Players Giancarlo Lopez and Luis ‘Tinga’ Otavio Santos.”
He added that he doesn’t know the capacity of the players and “concerned” that they might not help the team achieve it’s goals.
The head coach role at Vipers thus remains vacant, barely a week into preseason, with continental football looming.
