Omar Ahmed Hussein, popularly known as Mandela, has been officially re-elected as president of SC Villa for another five-year term.

The club’s Electoral Commission announced Mandela’s victory on Tuesday after he emerged as the only validly nominated candidate.

Brian Kajubi, chairperson of the Electoral Committee, confirmed that Mandela was vetted and approved by the Board of Trustees before being declared the winner.

“With only Mr. Omar Ahmed Hussein as the validly nominated and approved candidate, the commission hereby declares him duly elected for a term of five years,” the statement read.

Mandela has been at the helm since November 2021, guiding the club through a rebuilding phase.

His focus has been on strengthening administration, improving player welfare, and assembling a competitive squad capable of challenging for domestic and continental honours.

Founded in 1975, SC Villa known as the Jogoos is Uganda’s most decorated club, boasting 17 league titles, nine Uganda Cups, and three CECAFA Club Championships.
