Strong defender Jocob Okao was announced the NEC FC best player of the 2024-2025 season ahead of forward Paul Mucureezi and Goalkeeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo.
Throughout the season, NEC FC beat odds to finish in second place in the Uganda Premier League with 60 points, just two behind league winner Vipers SC.
In the process, NEC FC won 20 games, drew seven and lost three and away from the league, they ended their Uganda Cup journey at the Quarterfinal.
The club, in just their second top-flight season, has reached continental football following Vipers SC’s win of a double.
Both NEC FC and Vipers SC replaced SC Villa and Kitara FC on a ticket to represent Uganda in CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Champions League in the 2025-2026 season.
At a dinner held on Monday, 2nd June 2025 at Silver Springs Hotel in Bugoloobi, NEC FC further rewarded Hannington Ssebwalunyo as Fans Player and Enock Ssebagala as Players’ Player of the Season.
Hannington Ssebwalunyo was awarded the winner on two occasions, having been named the team’s Goalkeeper of the Season.
Geriga Atendele was named the Best Defender, Paul Mucureezi voted as the Best Forward, while the goal of the season went to Gadafi Wahab for a goal against Kitara FC.
