Midfielder Allan Okello, Defender Rogers Torach, and Forward Jude Ssemugabi are the players in the best position to captain the Uganda Cranes in the upcoming CHAN.

This follows the last training session held at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, before traveling to Tanzania for the CECAFA 4 Nations tournament in Arusha.

Coach Morley Byekwaso hinted at the thought while speaking to the media.

“We trust the process and that we are going to make it to the CHAN Knockout stage. Every ideal is centered on the target.

“We are going to the CECAFA 4 Nations tournament to see our team getting more chemistry, and most of the major decisions will be made after the test tournament, including the captain’s announcement. But we will go for experience, and Allan Okello, Torach, and Ssemugabi have been on the team for a while.”

Abdul Karim Watambala was the player who spoke on behalf of his teammates, and he emphasized the team’s progress to the knockout stage:.

“Every player is proud to be on this team, and we are all focused on making the team progress from the group. Though every player has his own ambitions, our Nation comes first.”

In Tanzania, Uganda will face host Kenya and Senegal as the teams appeal to get match situations.

The travelling squad to Tanzania contains 26 players following the trim from 29 letting Shamir Kimwero, Hannington Ssebwalunyo and Ronald Otti go.
