Cricket Uganda’s Head of High Performance and Pathways, Richard Okia, has described the upcoming Easter Women’s T20 Cup as a crucial opportunity for Uganda’s women’s teams to grow and compete at a higher level.

Uganda will host Nepal Women and USA Women from April 7th to 16th, 2026 at the Entebbe Cricket Oval.

Victoria Pearls Ladies.

The matches will feature the Victoria Pearls and Uganda A Women in a series designed to build experience rather than chase international status.

“These games against USA and Nepal give us the right test,” Okia said.

“The Victoria Pearls need to sharpen their game and build momentum, while Uganda A gains exposure and confidence.”

The tournament is meant to give players more time on the pitch and help coaches assess combinations without pressure.

Nepal and USA arrive with clear purpose. Both sides are preparing for the ICC Women’s Challenge Trophy, which will be held in Rwanda from April 16th to May 1st.

The event will be the first of its kind for emerging women’s teams.

In Uganda’s point of view, hosting the series is as important as playing it.

It offers a chance to test depth, give younger players a platform and measure progress against teams heading into a global competition.
