As Lugazi FC waits to host URA FC at Najjembe in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Wednesday, October 22, head coach Francis Mugerwa has exposed challenges to handle in the fourth game of the season.
He noted, “The entire squad is fully fit, we are extremely prepared for the game. The only challenge is team selection because our players are very competitive this time round. I believe if we get it right, the result can come despite facing a big team which beat us last season home and away.”
On the other side, URA FC head coach Alex Isabirye set the game on the road to Lugazi FC to be the turning point of the season, “We have been really bad so far, only three points in as many games; that is very far from our target.”
He added, “We are going to Lugazi aware of what they can do. In their last game, they picked up a draw away to KCCA FC, a sign which shows how hard they are, but we need to turn things around and start winning games. We have worked on our major problem, which is scoring.”
Lugazi FC has so far won their only game at Najjembe, played against Calvary FC, while losing to Entebbe UPPC FC and in their last game, they pulled a 0-0 draw from league giants KCCA FC.
For URA FC, they have so far drawn all three games, scoring once by new signing Nelson Ssenkatuka in their last game when they hosted Express FC at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
As Lugazi FC rallies on a full squad, URA FC will deal without Goalkeeper Derrick Ochan and defenders Arthur Kiggundu and Ronald Otti, both recruited in the recently closed transfer market.
Last season, URA FC won 1-0 on both occasions, with Bruno Bunyaga scoring a late winner in Najjembe, while Ivan Ahimbisibwe scored at URA FC’s home, but both scorers in last season’s fixtures have already departed from URA FC.
