With a tough 2-1 loss to Algeria, Uganda’s World Cup dream ended in tears away in Algiers, this never stopped the road to the FIFA World Cup 2026 from heating up, with global excitement already reaching new heights.

Over one million tickets have been sold to fans from 212 countries and territories following the closure of the Visa Presale Draw phase launched in mid-September.

Unsurprisingly, most demand has come from the host nations, the United States, Canada, and Mexico followed by England, Germany, Brazil, Spain, Colombia, Argentina, and France, rounding out the top ten.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino hailed the milestone as a defining moment on the journey to 2026.

“The sale of more than one million tickets is an incredible response and a wonderful sign that the biggest, most inclusive FIFA World Cup in history is capturing the imagination of supporters everywhere,” he said.

For fans who missed out, the Early Ticket Draw entry period opens on 27 October, offering another chance to apply for single-match, venue-specific, and team-specific tickets across all 104 games.

To protect supporters, FIFA has launched an official resale platform at FIFA.com/tickets, allowing safe and legal exchanges of tickets.

A special FIFA Ticket Exchange Platform has also been set up for Mexican residents.

Set to be co-hosted across North America, the 2026 tournament will be the first to feature 48 teams, making it the biggest and most inclusive World Cup in history.
