Park FC passes the first hurdle on the way to retain the Futsal Uganda Cup

Park FC started their Futsal Uganda Cup title defence by edging Edgars Youth Programme 5-2 in match played at Old Kampala Futsal Arena.

Captain Shafiq Mulangira was on target twice with Joshua Aziku, Abasi Junior Muluya, and Frank Nsereko completing the heavy score that sent Park FC to the quarterfinals. Atendele Bob and Eze Kombi found consolation goals for Edgars Youth Programme.

On the same night Kisenyi FC sparkled in their round of 16 encounter, annilating Nansana Aska academy 9-0. Ilyas Alalous Omran was the was the main threat and netted five goals, while Marvin Ategeka, Shafiq Dirir, Ivan Alioni, and new comer Bashir Warid all registered a goal to their names.

Meanwhile Fiyore SC and First Touch Sports shocked Lubaga Grameen Youth and Kisugu FC to secure their slots in the 2024/25 Futsal Uganda Cup quarterfinals.

Debutants Fiyore SC continued with their impressive run defeating Lubaga Grameen Youth 8-2. Abdiwali was the star of the show with four goals as Abdihamid Ahmed, Abdiwali Halane, Awale Abshir, and Fiyore Ahmed added others.

For Grameen Youth’s Eric Buyondo and Sulaiman Yakubu managed to score the consolation goals.

First Touch Sports also advanced to the quarterfinals with a 4-2 victory over Kisugu FC. Denis Kaweesa scored a hat trick for First Touch Sports, while Shukran Kakande netted twice for the vistors.

The remaining round of 16 matches will take place on October 25, 2024 at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
