“We even beat off competition from some of Africa’s top and wealthiest footballing nations that wanted him.”
Since taking charge, Put has overseen a strong resurgence for the Cranes , returning them to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and boosting hopes in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

FUFA CEO Edgar Watson said the renewal reflects the federation’s desire for stability and long-term growth.
“We look forward to achieving even more under FUFA’s vision of becoming Africa’s top football nation, both on and off the pitch,” he noted.
Shortly after signing the new deal, Put named a 26-man squad for two upcoming friendlies during the international window.
