Pirates booked their place in the Enterprise Cup semi-finals after a tense 11-10 win over Kenya’s KCB Rugby at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, keeping Uganda’s hopes alive in the competition.

It was a tight, physical contest decided by small moments. Pirates stayed disciplined, took their chances, and defended well to protect their narrow lead.

The forwards laid the foundation for the win. Didi Ruhweza led the pack with a strong display, alongside Ariho Muhumuza and Nathan Bwambale, who held firm in the front row. Their effort kept Pirates steady in the toughest exchanges.

Conrad Wanyama stood out with a tireless performance and was named man of the match, playing a key role in both attack and defence.

Despite the win, Alema Ruhweza admitted the team could have done better. “Our performance was okay, but we missed chances. We could have closed the game earlier,” he said.

While Pirates celebrated, it was a tough outing for other Ugandan sides. Heathens were beaten 61-19 by Kabras Sugar, struggling to match the Kenyan champions.

KCB KOBs lost 29-13 to Nondescripts, while Toyota Buffaloes fell 60-15 to Menengai Oilers.

Pirates now face Nondescripts in the semi-finals, with Menengai Oilers set to take on Kabras Sugar. Uganda’s hopes now rest on Pirates as they push for a place in the final.
