2026 Enterprise Cup | Semifinal | Saturday April 11

  • Black Pirates Rugby Club Vs Nondescripts Rugby Football Club – 4 pm | Kings Park Arena

Black Pirates Rugby Club head into Saturday’s Enterprise Cup semifinal against Nondescripts Rugby Football Club as the last Ugandan side standing, carrying both pressure and belief into a tough challenge.

The Pirates have made three changes to their squad. Samuel Lubwaba, Mubarak Wandera and winger Pius Ojeabulu return to the bench after missing the quarterfinal win over KCB Rugby.

Eric Mula comes into the starting lineup for Isaac Massa, while Sydney Gongodyo shifts to lock, allowing Uganda Sevens international Desire Ayera to slot into the back row.

The front row of Ariho Muhumuza, Nathan Bwambale and Alema Ruhweza remains unchanged.

The bench offers experience and depth, but not the kind of explosive impact. Still, the Pirates will feel confident in their ability to close out games late, especially with players like Stephen Alul and Haruna Muhammad expected to feature in the second half.

Their approach is to start strong and take control early. After relying heavily on defence to edge KCB in the quarterfinal, the Pirates will want a more complete performance this time, particularly with ball in hand.

Nondescripts, however, arrive with momentum and a sharp edge in attack. Their quarterfinal win over KOBs in Nakuru showed their strength in efficiency rather than dominance.

Even with limited possession, they punished mistakes, scoring two tries from five entries into the red zone.

That clinical finishing, led by the pace of Tonny Fidens and the creativity of scrumhalf Ian Mumbwani, is what the Pirates must shut down.

The Kenyan side also carries size and power in the forwards, setting up a fierce contest at the set piece.

Set pieces could decide the match. Both teams have grown stronger in scrums and lineouts, and whoever controls that area will likely control the game.

With a final against either Menengai Oilers or Kabras Sugar on the line, the Pirates know there is no room for error.
