Police FC have strengthened their squad ahead of the new Uganda Premier League season by signing Deus Bukenya and Richard Matovu.

Bukenya, a versatile defender-midfielder known for his sharp diagonal passes, returns home after stints with Prisons XI in Botswana and Tanzania’s Kagera Sugar.

The former Vipers and Express player agreed to a two-year deal, bringing valuable international experience.

Left-back Richard Matovu joins from league champions Vipers SC. His steady presence should help fix a Police backline that struggled last season when the team finished 11th with 36 points.

Bukenya’s ability to play centre-back, right-back, or midfield gives coach Angelo Lonyesi extra tactical options as he targets a top-half finish.

Police are also believed to have secured midfielder Said Kyeyune from Express and ex-SC Villa forward Charles Bbaale, underlining their intent to climb the table.
