Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has dismissed a petition by Police FC challenging the eligibility of Umar Kyebatala in the Plascon co-sponsored Uganda Cup.
Police lodged the complaint after their 2-1 loss to Lugazi FC in the Round of 32 last month, where Kyebatala scored both goals to eliminate the Cops.

The club argued that the forward was ineligible because he had earlier featured for non league side Football Classroom in a preliminary round match against Red Ants FC.
FUFA, however, ruled that the regulation only applies to players registered for the competition from the Round of 64 onward.
Since Kyebatala was not registered with FUFA as a Football Classroom player, he was eligible to play after being registered by Lugazi.
The ruling means Lugazi’s victory stands. They will now face 2024 runners up NEC FC in the Round of 16 on March 17 at Lugogo Stadium for a place in the quarterfinals.
Elsewhere, Happy Boys Kagaba host Six O’clock FC at Kagaba Playground in Kassanda on March 16.
On March 17, KCCA FC take on Onduparaka FC at Phillip Omondi Stadium.
Vipers SC will host Iganga United FC at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende on March 18, while Kitara FC face Bunyaruguru United FC the same day.
On March 19, SC Villa meet Maroons FC at FUFA Kadiba Stadium.
A double header at Hamz Stadium will see URA FC play Tapoh FC before Express FC face Red Devo FC.
