Crested Cranes’ striker Viola Nambi was unveiled by Italian side top-flight Women Football Club Pomigliano Calcio Femminile on Friday, 15 September, 2023.
The striker signed a two-year employment contract in Italy from Swedish side IFK Kalmar.
Nambi’s new side Pomigliano Calcio Femminile will face Juventus Turin Women FC on Saturday 16, September, 2023 in the opening game in the Italian Serie A Women’s League.
Nambi is expected to make her debut with Pomigliano Calcio Femminile today against Juventus Turin Women and later fly to Uganda to join the Crested Cranes squad in Njeru.
Uganda is preparing for a doubleheader against Algeria in the 2024 WAFCON qualifiers and the first leg will be played in Uganda on on 26th September 2023, before the two teams faceoff in the return leg, six days later in Algeria.
The versatile striker was also part of the Crested Cranes final squad that competed in the 2022 WAFCON in Morocco.
Nambi has previously played for SMASK, Vaxjo DFF Women FC and IFK Kalmar, among others
