The round 64 of the Uganda Cup draws were held on Monday pitting Uganda Premier League and FUFA Big League sides against lower division sides.
Hosted by Sheraton Hotel, the event of the 50th edition was graced by FUFA Executive Committee Member Rogers Mulindwa, and Hajati Aisha Nalule, the Director of Competitions.
Alongside them were two football legends, Isma Kirungi and John Baptist Luboga, both former players of Coffee FC, the inaugural winners of the Uganda Cup.
“It is our obligation as FUFA to stage a well-organized tournament that reflects the support being given by sponsors like Plascon,” Mulindwa noted.
The number of teams that participated in the preliminary stages was 312. And of those, 33 teams are joining the 31 from the top two tiers to make a total of 64.
Defending champions Vipers will be on the road to face Lugazi Stars FC and this (playing the first away fixture away) will be the same fate for all Premier League and Big League teams in the fixtures to be played from18th to 31st January 2024.
