Prisons Netball Club suffered a narrow defeat to National Insurance Corporation (NIC) on Friday, dashing their hopes of becoming champions of the East African Netball Club Championship at National Stadium, Tanzania.
The match was a closely contested affair, with both teams trading points throughout the four quarters. Despite a valiant effort, Prisons Netball Club ultimately fell short, losing 39-38 to NIC.
The first quarter ended in a stalemate, with both teams tied at 9-9. NIC took a slim lead in the second quarter, but Prisons Netball Club fought back to take a 19-18 advantage.
Prisons Netball Club won the third quarter 32-27, but NIC rallied in the final quarter to take the win.
With this loss, Prisons Netball Club’s chances of becoming champions are slim, but they can still salvage some pride with a win against Tanzanian Champions USIMIAJE Netball Club in their final match today.
