Ahead of his imminent move to newly promoted Uganda Premier League side NEC FC, Rashid Okocha is already training with the team.

Okocha is a serious target for NEC and the player is reportedly now seriously considering reuniting with his former coach, Hussein Mbalangu.

The pair have previously worked together at Onduparaka, and Mbalangu feels the player’s experience will be helpful to his side in their first-ever season in the top flight.

Okocha is currently the longest-serving player at Onduparaka and has been at the Greenlight Stadium since the 2019/20 season.

Meanwhile, he is still under contract with Onduparaka as he signed a one-year extension in September 2022.

Okocha has spent four campaigns with Onduparaka in the top flight. He featured 24 times last season as they got axed to the FUFA Big League.

It seems NEC will win the race for the left-back though, to win the race that has the likes of SC Villa and Onduparaka rivals, Arua Hill SC.
