After two weeks of rest, the bottom four teams at the end of the regular season of the rugby championship are back in action this weekend with survival on the line.

Impis Seek Redemption After Disappointing Season

Owing to the loss to the Pirates on the last day, Impis locked in the bottom spot in a season where they managed nine losses, one draw, and only one win which came on the championship’s opening weekend.

In their first dance with the big boys, the Kampani’s Eagles, their opponents this weekend, were the cream of the bottom collecting two wins and nine losses.

In their ranks for the weekend, the Impis have summoned Amos Asimire to cut short his honeymoon, Emmanuel Katuntu, Mugabi Gabriel, Emmanuel Ssedybane, and Stallone Arinaitwe all to come off the bench and galvanize their charge towards staying in the top flight.

The Makerere side has also seen a host of changes in the starting side, with the reliable Pius Mpoza starting at the base of the pack. Spencer Muhiire and Kennedy Muhumuza reprise their combination in the midfield.

Rams vs Warriors: A Replay of the Season Finale

The Lifeguard Rams needed a final-day miracle and they got just that, against the Warriors, winning and jumping out of the last spot. As luck would have it, the two come up against each other this weekend in the first round of the relegation playoffs.

After a more than successful Uganda Cup outing, the Rams were hit with several injuries that condemned them to the unwanted region of the log. On the other hand, the Warriors were just returning to the top flight after two years away.

The Relegation playoffs will be played over two legs with the two teams with the last aggregate scores at the end of it all relegated. Seeing that all teams in this playoff are from the Central Union, they will be relegated to the Central Uganda Rugby Association League.
