A twist to the 2025 FUFA Women’s Cup, the quarterfinal clash between She Corporate FC and Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC is set to be replayed, but only the extra time portion after a ruling by the FUFA Disciplinary Panel (FDP) exposed a critical officiating error.

The original match, played on May 21, 2025, ended in a 1-1 draw at full-time. According to FUFA Competition Rules, such a result should have led to an extra 30 minutes of play.

However, in a decision that sparked controversy and a formal protest from Kawempe Muslim, the match officials instead proceeded directly to penalty kicks.

Kawempe Muslim, dissatisfied with the abrupt shift to penalties, filed a petition with the FDP, arguing that protocol had been violated. Their concerns were validated when the referee, in a supplemental report requested by the panel, admitted to the oversight.

She Corporate, for their part, defended their actions by stating they merely followed the referee’s instructions on match day.

After reviewing all submissions and applicable regulations, the FDP determined that the transition to penalties was a clear breach of competition rules.

As a result, the panel nullified the penalty shootout results and ordered a replay of the 30 minutes of extra time to ensure a fair and rule-abiding outcome.

The FUFA Competitions Department has been tasked with setting a new date and venue for the continuation of the match, with official communication expected shortly.

This decision leaves the quarterfinal still hanging in the balance. The eventual winner will advance to the semifinals to face St. Noa, while the tournament’s other semifinal sees Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC take on Amus WFC.
