Rezlife Saints secured their return to the National Basketball League with a 3-0 sweep of UPDF Tomahawks in the best-of-five semifinals.

In Friday’s decisive Game 3 at YMCA, Wandegeya, the Saints were determined from the outset, leading 18-11 at the end of the first quarter and maintaining their advantage throughout the game.

At halftime, they held a nine-point lead over the soldiers, who were significantly hampered by foul trouble due to their aggressive defense inside the paint.

This trend continued in the third quarter as the Saints effectively capitalized on free throws, extending their lead despite a spirited fight from UPDF.

The soldiers’ never-say-die attitude saw Henry Okoth take charge, scoring 15 points to narrow the deficit to only six.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t sustain this momentum in the final quarter, managing only seven points and ultimately losing the game by 13 points.

Victorious Saints were led by Richard Anyunya (18 points and 10 rebounds), Leonardo Gilabi (14 points and 7 rebounds), and Gideon Kasasa (13 points and 4 steals).

For the Tomahawks, Henry Okoth (19 points and 6 rebounds), Godwin Muhamireho (12 rebounds and 6 points), and Collin Musiime (11 rebounds and 7 points) were their top performers.

Next, the Saints will face Victoria Crocs in the promotion playoff finale to determine the top team in the second tier of Ugandan basketball.
