Lucy Kobusigye, a rising star in Ugandan women’s football, is living her childhood dream as a top striker. The 22-year-old has been tearing through the Kampala Women’s Regional League, leading her club Royal Queens FC to the top of the standings with an impressive 15 goals and 2 assists in the first round.

Last season, the goal poacher was a key pillar as she helped Byafaayo Queens WFC to the FUFA Women Kampala Regional league title and secured FUFA Women Elite League promotion.

She also helped Asubo Ladies FC secure FUFA Women Super League promotion in the 2021/22 season.

“I’m happy with my performance so far,” Kobusigye told Nnalubaale Sports. “Scoring goals is a team effort, but I also put in extra work to hone my skills.”

When asked about her future, Kobusigye expressed her ambition to keep scoring and help Royal Queens climb the ranks. “I want to see my team win games and get promoted to both the Elite League and Super League,” she stated.

While open to new opportunities, Kobusigye emphasizes loyalty to her current club. “Leaving Royal Queens depends on the right offer, with both my management and the club agreeing to the terms,” she clarified.

Born in 2001, Kobusigye has played for clubs like Asubo Ladies FC, Byafaayo Queens and Royal Queens.
