Roxberry Pool Club has emphatically clinched the 2025 National Pool League title, securing the championship with a game to spare after a commanding 16-4 bonus-point victory over Kireka on Sunday.

The Kiwanga-based side, who had to forfeit their previous fixture against bottom-placed Nakawa due to player absences, bounced back with a dominant display that left no doubt about their championship credentials.

They surged to a 7-3 halftime lead and barely faltered in the second half, conceding just one frame as veteran Janan Alinga edged out Simon Lubuulwa.

Led by inspirational captain and league top scorer Ibra Sejjemba, who delivered a flawless four-frame performance, Roxberry’s triumph was a masterclass in team cohesion.

New mid-season recruit Ian Kazibwe matched Sejjemba’s output while Azali Lukomwa and Simon Lubuulwa chipped in with three wins apiece. Joseph Kasozi overcame a rocky start to contribute two vital frames.

“This is an incredible feeling, a testament to the hard work and dedication of every single player on this team,” said an elated Sejjemba.

“To win the league with a game in hand shows the consistency and belief we’ve had all season. We faced challenges but we stuck together. We are champions and we’re going to celebrate this moment!”

With the title decided, Upper Volta is guaranteed a second-place finish, having been awarded a walkover win against Scrap Buyers, who now settle for third.

The fight for fourth place remains the only unresolved contest, with Adi’s Spot currently holding a narrow two-point edge over Greater Mukono after respective victories over Tororo and Corporate Shooters.

In the Women’s League, newly crowned champions Mukono celebrated in style, dispatching Silverbacks 16-4 in a ceremonial fixture. Upper Volta wrapped up their season with an 18-2 rout of Akaanya.

The 2025 pool season will officially conclude with a league awards ceremony scheduled for August, where Roxberry will take center stage as the undisputed kings of the table.
